PUB NIGHT WRAP UP
The
daffodils have wilted, the delicious food has long been digested, the energetic
Fiddle music and friendly chats are now only memories..and perhaps some wallets
are a bit skinnier. But what a
better cause! Pub Night 2002,
despite a smaller crowd (98 rather than the average 113) was another success and
those who attended had a wonderful evening!
The total auction revenue was $1781.50.
The bust of Arthur Bowley (A Bit 'O Brecon History) went to Walt and
Nancy Byers, the highest bidders at $210. Ten
businesses contributed auction items: Cobblestone
Rose; Lewis Jewelers (Ann Arbor);
Distinctive Creations; Rustic Glen Golf
Course; Earthen Craft Pottery (Sutton's Bay);
Saline Picture Frame; Express Tire; The
British Pantry; Great Harvest Bread; Tom
Mac's Photography 17
individuals contributed items as well including: Ralph
Amsler; Earl & Edna Laughry; Audrey & Barry Barkel;
Marion & Joan Lee; Susan Blake: Pat & Sheila Little; Kent
Brown & Pam Byrnes; Mary Martin; Gene
DeRossett; Bob & Pam Phillips; Linda
Duvall; Bonnie Rahn; Jim & Susan Keezer; Joan
Roth; Doris Kraushaar; Ted Toth; Gerry
Wingate The
Guild wishes to thank you all for your contributions and, of course, your
presence and spirit for the event!! We
trust those who could not attend this year will be able to come next year,
Friday, February 28, 2003!! The
Sustaining Membership Drawing was comprised of three items this year.
The following Sustaining Membership members were winners: 1st
Drawing - $250 check from the Guild - Mariel
Peck 2nd
Drawing - $200 Gift Certificate to Weber's
- Doug Peck 3rd
Drawing - $50 Gift Certificate to Mac's Seafood - Louise
Lowe Some
may wonder how the Pecks won two prizes. This
was an absolute fluke! Each
Sustaining Member gets a ticket placed in the drawing.
The Guild board members have decided to hold the Sustaining Membership
Drawing at one of the other social functions held during the year (beginning in
2003) Joann
Straub catered the buffet dinner again this year and did another outstanding
job! The baked chicken was moist,
and tasty, and the Tater Crust fish was a hit again along with the scalloped
potatoes! We can't forget the
delicious apple strudel and blueberry cheesecake which just hit the spot!
I
would be remiss without thanking all the Guild members and workers to make the
event a success. A very special
thanks to Sheila Little for coordinating the silent and live auction.
Mark Hopper, Pat Little, and Gretchen Driskell did a great job enticing
bidders. This was a bigger
challenge this year with a lower number of attendees and people being more
conservative with their spending. Our
net revenue for Pub Night 2002 was $1410.95.
We look forward to next year's event.
Put Friday, February 28, 2003 on your calendars! Joan
